... is actually the reflex that results in the formation of goose bumps – more correctly known, according to Wikipedia, as 'piloerection' or 'the pilomotor reflex'.
Wikipedia also says that the reflex is also known, more traditionally, as 'horripilification'.
It seems odd to accept "goose bumps" or "goose flesh" but not "goose pimples". Is that just what they're called where I grew up?
